When Sander Van Doorn noticed some cheeky blighter was selling his own unreleased VIP mix of Technotronic's 'Pump Up The Jam' on white label he decided to hit them where it hurts… The pockets!
While Johnny Depp continues to sexify the cut throat world of piracy in the ongoing Pirates Of The Carribean saga, the cold harsh reality of piracy is far from glamorous. Or indeed sexy. Just ask high rising trance/techno DJ/producer Sander Van Doorn…
It's come to Sander's attention that someone's pressed up his own version of Technotronic's 'Pump Up The Jam' and is making a tidy profit from it. The track, now over three years old, was made by Sander as DJ tool while experimenting with his new studio. Besides during his pumping energetic sets, the track never saw the light of day.
Not one to admit defeat, however, Sander is suggesting that anyone who's purchased this sneaky under the counter rip-off should take it back to the record shop where they bought the record and demand their money back. (Frankly at iDJ we're not too sure this will work, but hell, give it a go and tell us how you got on!)
In a two pronged attack, Sander is also set to release the tune as a free download on his MySpace site as of tomorrow (Thursday June 7), so if any of you were thinking about lining the sneaky, cheeky pirates pockets, don't!
